’ve always had a love of fashion and some of my fondest memories include time spent with my beloved Nan – a pub landlady who exuded glamour, laughed constantly and loved fashion – she sparkled wherever she went. I would sketch outfits, create and dress my cousins in Nan’s cast-off ballgowns. These, I would then present to my patient grandparents, on an imaginary catwalk in their lounge. From here, I realised my love for creating clothes and it sparked a lifetime passion that continues to this day.

I love the glitz and glamour of the dress-up. To feel the softness of silk and the intricacy of lace. This developed into a love for sewing, so I put myself through a course at night school at the age of 15. Here I learned to read patterns and made bridesmaid dresses for my cousin’s wedding.

I went on to study a degree in Fashion Design and Technology at the University of Gloucestershire in the UK. After graduating university, I worked my way up in bridal boutiques in England. Then I took my skills on the road and went backpacking through Europe, Asia and Africa, before landing in Australia. Here, in Sydney, I met my husband Seth. We continued our travels to New Zealand, and finally settled in Brisbane, where I worked for the amazingly talented Wendy Makin Bridal Design. I learned so much from Wendy in regard to listening to the bride, making fabric choices, classical style and attention to detail.

I married Seth in 2006 at a beautiful intimate ceremony in Tea Tree Bay in Noosa National Park. My beautiful gown was a gift from Wendy and Geoff Makin. I still love the design as well as the man I married. We went on to have two beautiful boys and moved our little family to the shores of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast where we still live today.

When my kids were of kindy age, I managed Eve Boutique, a small bridal shop in Maroochydore, before returning to my love of sewing.
